Wow, it is hard to believe that my wife and I started TraumaAdoption.org almost a year ago! The site turns 1 on November 1st. The effort really was and has been a labor of love over the last 12 months.
I have a favor to ask of you. In honor of the site's first birthday, I would like to collect stories - our stories. These define us. Sometimes they are funny. Sometimes they are sad. They can be happy or angry. Pretty much any story that you think might touch others are welcome provided they don't break the site's terms and conditions. Please invite folks that you know who are affected by fostering or adopting to head over and post as well. Grandparents, therapists, doctors, brothers, sisters, foster kids, adoptive kids and friends are all welcome. For kids under 13, a parent needs to post on his or her behalf. I think we can all learn from each other's experiences!
If you have forgotten your username and/or password - you can request a change here: http://traumaadoption.org/adopt/user/password If you would like your story to be 100% anonymous, please feel free to email me directly matthew [at] traumaadoption [dot] org. I'll post it under a general account. You can post your story (or stories) to http://traumaadoption.org/adopt/forums/our-stories by clicking "new topic".
We'll be officially collecting stories until the end of November - which is also National Adoption Month. Thanks for your support - we appreciate it.
